Accessible Karate World Championships 2016

From October 25th to October 30th 2016, the 23rd World Karate Championship and 2nd World Karate Championship for Persons with Disabilities 2016 will be held in Linz, Austria. It is the first time that the World Championship for athletes with disabilities is carried out at the same place and at the same time.

The KI-I supports the organizers of the Karate World Championships 2016. The following activities will be carried out:

  • Support to provide accessible information (Web, documents, etc.)
  • Sensitization and training of volunteers and people working for the Karate World Championships to enable them to understand the needs people with disabilities and to know about how to interact with them. Furthermore KI-I together with the Institute Integriert Studieren and specifically trained volunteers will operate an accessibility helpdesk during the Karate World Championships.
  • Integration of people with disabilities as volunteers of the Karate World Championships.
